Switzerland - Bern

Yesterday we visited Bern, the capital of Switzerland, with our friends and hosts Monica and Marius. We were able to see some of the principal attractions including the house of Albert Einstein where he deduced his famous E=mc2 equation. In the square outside the Munster we came across a ceremony involving a troop of cavalry led by an officer with powdered wig and 3 corner hat.

It was just a short day visit but we saw a great deal - including the jagged peaks of the Eiger and Jungfrau in the distance.

Today we travel through Zurich to the airport for a short flight to Rome to start the Italian leg of our holiday.
